Ironing Board Cover

My ironing board has been ugly for quite some time. I have had the pattern Cotton Way Ironing Board Cover and this Alexander Henry sewing themed fabric sitting in a drawer for about 2 years.
My husband went away so I had a Saturday all to myself. I pulled this out and started working on it. I'm pleased with how it turned out.
I made the flying geese with scrappy whites.

Now I can enjoy my ironing. This was on my Q4 Finish Along List so I am linking to Q4 Finishes at Clover and Violet

Q4 Finish Along list

Following is my list for Q4 Finish Along:

1.) First up, I need to finish this quilt for my Mom. It's getting done and it definitely will be completed by the end of this quarter.
2.) Going to start this quilt. Maybe it will be done. If not, it will move on to next year. I won this fabric in a blog hop and I would love to have a new quilt for my spare bedroom.
3.) This Christmas quilt top needs put together and quilted. My friend gave me the quilt top years ago. I need to finish it to use for Christmas. Very Vintage.
4.) Apple Pouch from Playful Little Paper-Pieced Projects
5.) Quilt and bind this Christmas Frivol. I completed the top a month or so ago. This is a nice size that I can use on my square table beside my couch. It definitely needs something new. I've had one of my first completed quilts sitting on it for a long time.
6.) Another Frivol #9. I would like to finish this for a Christmas gift for my sister. She likes handmade items and she could probably use it around her house somewhere.
7.) This Frivol I would like to make, possibly for a gift for my Mom.
8.) This Frivol I might start working on when I get the chance.

9.) This Adelaide Bag would be a quick project from Amy Friend's book "Intentional Piecing". I might make a couple of these for gifts.
10.) Basket - another fairly quick project from Anna Graham's book "Handmade Style". I'd like to make a couple of these possibly for gifts. I have had some of this fabric for years and it needs to be made into something! My drawers are filled with fabric.
11.) This cute Splendid Notions Pouch by Charise Creates. So cute. Don't know what 6 1/2" block I will use for the front yet, but I'll figure it out.
12.) This ironing board cover. I have had this sitting in a dresser drawer for a couple of years so it needs done, especially since my ironing board only has the ugly heat-resistant cover on it now.

I've chosen some smaller projects so I can use some of these for Christmas gifts. I think handmade gifts are the nicest. Plus, the larger quilts that I choose to make seem to take so long that I get burnt out. Next year, I have a few quilts picked out to get started on. Linking up to Q4 Finish Along at Clover & Violet

Spectrum Clutch

I made this Heidi Staple's Spectrum Clutch for my long-time girlfriend, Denise.

I have known Denise since Kindergarten. She moved across country after college. I have only seen her twice, I think, in over 30 years. We got together for lunch so I wanted to give her a small gift. I think it turned out very pretty. My friend was a little impressed that I can actually sew now. We took Home-Ec in Junior High, but we didn't get very far back then. We had a little chuckle about Home-Ec class. Linking up to Elm Street Quilts Bag It
