A few purple sews.

Looking back through my photos, I have come to realize that I have sewn a few purple items. However, they really are not current items. In addition, they really are not being used at present. These have been completed in years past. Sarah Goer quilts is hosting a monthly link up and January's link up is Show me something Purple

This is a wall hanging that I purchased in a kit, from Keepsake Quilting, when I first started quilting. I discovered that I really did not know what I was doing and I didn't particularly care for fusible applique. It sat in a drawer for a while until I finished it. However, it is still not hanging on a wall anywhere. It is Oregano in bloom and I do love oregano plants.

In addition, I have sewn this purple pouch a number of years ago. It was a gift for my Sister-in-law and she did like it at the time. Not sure if she is using it now.

And my final purple item is this bag that I made when I was sewing bags. I have gotten away from sewing bags as much because they chew up a lot of my time. Plus, you cannot just throw them in the washing machine like a quilt.

Seeing this photo reminded me of the trouble I had sewing the top where the spotted fabric meets the binding. I either printed the pattern incorrectly or something because I had to make tiny pleats in order to get it to fit. I did use this for a while, though.

I guess I need to look through my stash and sew some new purple items. Either that or buy some new stash of purples.

OMG for January is complete

For my One Monthly Goal at Elm Street Quilts, I have been trying to choose projects that have been sitting for a while and really need finished. Of course, I realize that I am always adding additional projects to my list; however, it is kind of keeping me on track.

I chose to complete this Tree of Life block that was on my initial goal post. It is now done which I am glad because it has been sitting for about a year.

For the back and binding, I just found some fabric from my stash that kind of looked like they went together. I kind of need a bigger pillow to fill this out.

It is nice that I can just use it as a "mini", too, if I want to. I think I'll let it sit as a mini for the time being.

One of my items that I'm crossing one item off of my list for 2020.

#1 OMG for 2020

I am a lover of numbers. So January 1st this year is 01/01/2020 which includes only zeroes (0), ones (1) and twos (2). Happy New Year!

For my January 2020 goal at Elm Street Quilts, I have chosen to complete one of my never-ending supplies of UFOs as follows:

I sewed this pillow top quite a while ago from The Moda Bake Shop. It is one of Jen Daly's patterns. Unfortunately, I cannot locate the web page in order to give her credit for the cute pattern. I would like to finish this so that I can be using it on my couch. I think that can be accomplished if I set my mind to it. Thanks to Patty at Elm Street Quilts for hosting these OMGs. It helps me to pull out my uncompleted projects and get them finished.

Finished a Makeup pouch for Quarter 4 Finish Along

I've been trying to complete some of the pouches that I have received from Sew Lux Fabric. I did finish this one in 2019 and it was Item #5 on my Quarter 4 Finish Along.

I'm glad I was able to get this completed since now I have been using it as my makeup pouch. It really is the perfect size. I traveled to my Sister's house and it worked great in my suitcase.

Pouch Gift for Christmas

I gifted this pouch to my Sister-in-law for Christmas and then I remembered that it was on my Quarter 4 Finish Along as #6. Pouches are great for makeup and other items. I have been receiving the monthly kits from Sew Lux Fabric. The pouches are so unique.
