Christmas Gifts 2015

Sharing some finishes for the month of December, for gifts.
First up are these cute pot holders and tea towel that I made for my mother.
I used an old Michael Miller print "Honey Bee". Here's a closer view of one of the potholders.
I even used the selvedges to make the tag. I just kind of "winged it" by making these. I just kept adding a little bit of fabric to get it the size that I wanted.

I followed the wonderful tutorial by nana company. Pretty Little Pot Holders
Here is a cute pouch that I sewed for my sister-in-law. The pattern I used is by Svetlana. Lola zipper pouch

I also sewed this cute journal cover for my sister. This was the most detailed of my projects, but I'm pleased with how it came out.

It is a paper-piecing pattern from the book Playful Little Paper-Pieced Projects . By the ever-talented Amy Friend .

And last but not least is One- Count 1- Christmas card that I made all by myself.
I mailed this to my Aunt Mary and she called to say she liked it and "how did I sew so many tiny pieces?" Maybe I'll have another One (1) sewn by Christmas this year!

I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Surfin' Santa Pillows

Finished these pillow covers for my brother, Doze, and his wife, Pam, who live in Florida. I thought they turned out pretty cute. I had gotten this Alexander Henry Surfin' Santa fabric on clearance last year at the quilt store. I thought it suited them in Florida.

I sewed the backs with a zipper closure.
In addition, I made them 2 pillow cases from the Surfin' Santa fabric.

Pyramid Pouch

I finished this Little Pyramid pouch
It was a little project that turned out pretty cute. This is a design from svetlana.

I also finished this cute cell phone/card holder that is in this book by Noodlehead Handmade Style by Anna

Trying to get some Christmas projects completed.
I also made my own Christmas card for my Aunt Mary. I just love it!

I am going to write inside tomorrow and mail it.  I sewed the paper-pieced block and my husband centered it in the card.   I think my Aunt will like it.
Have a Merry Christmas!

December Goal

I have a few goals for December but I want to finish pillows for brother and his wife with this cool Alexander Henry fabric - "Surfin' Santa". I found this fabric on clearance last year at the quilt shop and I thought it was perfect for my brother since he lives in Florida.

Kind of looks like my brother, Doze, just hangin' out having a drink!
